Imbewu yeKapa School of Arts, the outreach arm of iKapa Dance Theatre, uses dance and arts as a medium to teach life skills such as team work, self discipline and confidence to the youth of historically previously disadvantaged communities.
Classes are currently held in Gugulethu, Khayelitshe, Nyanga and Phillipi and offer programs in Dance, Music, Art and Culture. With further funding iKapa will develop and improve these outreach teaching centers to become functional art and culture centers for the youth as well as a platform for iKapa to educate and entertain the surrounding communities.
For dedicated learners that show potential, iKapa provides intensive training at the company studio on Saturday mornings.
